Programme Notes
Snow Island celebrates the Swiss canton of Valais and the area around the ski resort of Crans-Montana, which gives the piece its name. Six cantonal music associations commissioned it for their 2024 festivals, where it was the set work for the second division. It was used again at the French and Swedish national championships and at the 2026 National Finals.

Notes
- Grade and duration. Hal Leonard (the publisher's parent company) gives Grade 3.5 and 9:30. The composer's site agrees ("Grade 3,5", 9'30") and adds "3ème division". 4barsrest gives about 10 minutes.
- Publisher. The score's copyright line reads "© 2024 by De Haske Publications" and 4barsrest names De Haske. Hal Leonard's listing names Beriato Music as publisher, in the "De Haske Brass Band" series, with publisher code DHP1246510030 (HL 4008683). De Haske Publications is used here, from the score.
- Price. £84.99 for score and parts from the brassband.co.uk listing under catalogue number DHP 1246510-030; another brassband.co.uk listing shows £79.99. No score-only price was confirmed in the first pass. On 2026-11-08 Studio Music, a seller, listed score only (DHP 1246510-130) at £16.99 and the set at £84.99; both are used. Studio Music also shows Difficulty C - Intermediate and Grade 3.5. The letter is a retailer label under the Studio Music rule and is ignored; the 3.5 matches the publisher's grade.
- Instrumentation. From the composer's sample score (DHP 1246510-030), which shows score pages 1–30 with a watermark but stops before the end. It matches the standard template, with two percussion staves. The percussion list comes from the sample pages only and may be incomplete.
- Commission. The score says it was commissioned by the Cantonal Associations of Valais, Bern, Jura, Geneva, Solothurn and Innerschweiz for the 2024 cantonal festivals, Brass Band 2nd division. It is not shown as a premiere because no first-performance details were found.
- Contest Use. All seven set test-piece uses on Brass Band Results are listed, all held. Switzerland is added for the four cantonal festivals because Brass Band Results shows a Swiss flag for each winning band and 4barsrest describes Valais as a Swiss canton; Brass Band Results does not name the contest's country directly.
- Media. The composer's page links a YouTube video, and the score's heading points to an audio demo on YouTube. The performers were not identified, so neither is listed.
