Programme Notes

Palangos Orkestras commissioned the work for the Championship Section of the 2020 European Brass Band Championships in Palanga, Lithuania. Those championships were cancelled, and the piece was first heard as the set work at the 2024 European Championships, also in Palanga. Its title comes from Robert Frost’s poem The Road Not Taken, but the composer says the music is abstract, with no story.
